Principal's Message
Hello everyone! As we navigate through another exciting term here at Itamworth Public School, I wanted to take a moment to express my gratitude for the incredible community we have. It’s truly a privilege to witness the growth and enthusiasm of our students each day. Our commitment to providing a nurturing and stimulating environment remains at the heart of everything we do. This term, we're focusing on enhancing our literacy programs, with new initiatives designed to spark a love for reading and writing across all grade levels. We believe that strong literacy skills are foundational for success in all areas of life, and we’re excited to see the positive impact these programs will have.
In addition to academics, we’re also placing a strong emphasis on student well-being. We understand that a happy and healthy child is a successful child, and we’re implementing new strategies to support their emotional and social development. This includes mindfulness exercises, peer support programs, and workshops on resilience. We want every student to feel safe, valued, and supported in our school community. Our dedicated staff are constantly working to create a positive and inclusive atmosphere where every child can thrive. Their passion for teaching and commitment to their students is truly inspiring. I encourage you to reach out to your child’s teacher or any member of our staff if you have any questions or concerns.
Finally, I want to thank you, the parents and guardians, for your ongoing support. Your involvement in your child’s education is invaluable. Whether it’s helping with homework, attending school events, or simply showing an interest in their learning, your contributions make a significant difference. Together, we can create a bright future for our students. So, let's continue to work hand-in-hand to make Itamworth Public School the best it can be!

The School Fair is scheduled for Saturday, July 20th, from 10 AM to 3 PM. We’ll have everything from classic carnival games to face painting and a bouncy castle. Plus, there will be a variety of food stalls offering tasty treats and refreshing drinks. It's a great opportunity to meet other families and support our school. All proceeds from the fair will go towards new playground equipment, so come on out and have a blast while supporting a great cause. We need volunteers to help make the fair a success, so if you’re interested in lending a hand, please sign up at the school office. Your help would be greatly appreciated!
Book Week
Book Week is coming up in August, and we have a week-long celebration planned to encourage a love of reading. The Book Week will run from August 5th to August 9th, with a different theme each day. We’ll have guest authors visiting, storytelling sessions, and a dress-up day where students can come to school dressed as their favorite book characters. The highlight of the week will be the Book Character Parade, where students can show off their costumes and share their favorite books with their classmates. Reading is such an important skill, and we want to make it fun and engaging for all students. We’ll also have a book fair where students can purchase new books and add to their personal libraries. So, get ready to dive into a world of imagination and adventure during Book Week!
Sports Day
Get your running shoes ready for Sports Day! It’s a day of friendly competition and fun athletic activities for all students. Sports Day is scheduled for Friday, August 23rd, and will feature a variety of events, including running races, sack races, and tug-of-war. Students will be divided into teams and will compete for points throughout the day. It’s a great opportunity to promote teamwork, sportsmanship, and physical fitness. We encourage all students to participate and give their best effort. Parents are also invited to come and cheer on their children. Important Reminders
Just a few important reminders to keep in mind.
Attendance
Please ensure your child attends school regularly and arrives on time. Consistent attendance is crucial for academic success. When students miss school, they miss valuable learning opportunities and can fall behind in their studies. We understand that there may be times when students are unable to attend school due to illness or other unavoidable circumstances. In such cases, please notify the school as soon as possible and provide a written explanation for the absence. We work closely with families to support students in maintaining good attendance and addressing any challenges they may face. Let's work together to ensure that all students have the opportunity to thrive academically.
Uniform
Make sure your child wears the correct school uniform every day. It helps create a sense of unity and pride in our school community. The school uniform consists of a blue polo shirt, gray shorts or pants, and closed-toe shoes. During the colder months, students may also wear a blue sweater or jacket. It's important that students adhere to the uniform policy to maintain a consistent and respectful appearance. If you have any questions about the uniform policy or need assistance with obtaining uniform items, please contact the school office. We appreciate your cooperation in ensuring that all students comply with the uniform requirements.
